The third radio ratings.

The third radio ratings survey results are in and the biggest talking point is no doubt the highs and lows experienced at the Southern Cross Austereo network in Sydney.

2DayFM again took a belting in the ratings while its brother station Triple M saw increases across the board.

2DayFM breakfast hosts' Dan & Maz have sunk to a new low in the latest surveys, dropping 0.4 from last time around to land just a 2.4 share, placing them in second last position for all FM and AM stations, only ahead of Sky Sports Radio.

It is hoped that the return of fan favourite duo Hamish & Andy will boost the station's ratings when they jump back in the drive slot next month, though many are wondering how long SCA will hold strong with the failing breakfast show.

Meanwhile, SCA brother station Triple M has an excellent outing in the third survey with breakfast show The Grill Team jumping up two points from the previous ratings to land a 7.8 share.

The drive show hosted by radio veteran Merrick Watts has also increased its ratings with a 6.7 share, up 0.9 from the previous survey.

Interestingly, Watts was one of the hosts of last year's 2Day breakfast show that kicked off their poor run of ratings before it was cancelled within the year.

Melbourne show The Hot Breakfast maintained the top spot in the morning slot, as it tied with Australian Radio Network station Gold with a 7.9 share.

Meanwhile, triple j bounced back from the previous survey to see increases across the board, bar the evenings slot to score a weekly share of 6.6, up 0.9 from the last outing.

Popular KIIS drive show duo Dave Hughes and Kate Langbroek have continued to climb the ratings with a 0.4 increase, as they enjoyed an 8.3 share.

Triple M were yet again the big movers in the Brisbane market, whilst NOVA also impressed in the latest surveys.

The Brisbane Grill Team show boosted its ratings by a very impressive 1.7 to score an overall 9.3 share, while the mornings slot with host Mitch Mitchell saw a 2.3 rise to hold an 11.1 share.

The afternoons slot also saw a huge improvement, increasing its share by 2.7 to hold an overall rating of 12.0

Meanwhile, NOVA saw improvements in all slots, raising its weekday share by 0.8 to hold a 12.7 rating.

triple j was the most impressive station in the third radio surveys as its overall share jumped by 2.8 to hold a 12.0 share. While they saw large increases across the board the biggest was the morning slot which saw a 3.9 increase to take a 12.3 share.

The coveted breakfast slot also saw a large jump of 2.2 to claim a solid 11.2 rating.

Elsewhere, ARN's 96FM had a tough outing, with the breakfast show dropping from last survey's 10.7 share, down to a 9.3.

As well as seeing significant increases in the Melbourne market, Hughes and Langbroek also saw some big numbers as they took out the top slot in the state for drive radio, with a 15.5, relegating the usual top-rating show on NOVA, Kate, Tim and Marty who fell to second with a 14.3 share.

Other stations recorded similar results to April's survey, with Mix102.3 extending their lead as the most overall listened to station in the state with a 14.3 share, up 0.7 from last month.
