Little BIGSOUND 2015 Unveils Official Industry & Artist Speaker Line-Up

The fifth annual youth-in-music forum hits the Judith Wright Centre in Brisbane this July

A who's who of industry professionals and performers including acclaimed producer MagooGraham Ashton (Footstomp Music), Tim Price (Collision Course), Dean McGrath (Rolls Bayce), Sahara Beck and many more have been named on the speaker's line-up for this year's Little BIGSOUND event in Brisbane this July.

A youth-focused offshoot of the wider BIGSOUND conference and showcase that takes over the Brisbane precinct of Fortitude Valley each September, Little BIGSOUND provides 15- to 25-year-olds with up-close-and-personal opportunities to hear talks from renowned identities from all facets of the music world, with the line-up of presenters this year also including 4ZZZ music director Chris Cobcroft, THINK Creative's Tim ArielJarryd Shuker of Art Of Sleeping and As Paradise Falls' Danny Kenneally. Also aboard are local booking fiend Patrick Balfe, veteran creative Lawrence English of Room40, and tech-savvy pop hero Hans Van Vliet, aka Hunz, plus several others.

The series of panels will canvass a broad array of practical topics, including panels on branding, networking, booking, electronic music, DIY recording and strategies for building sustainable careers, as well as talks regarding changing and emerging trends in music, and a practically bottomless well of experience-based anecdotes to be tapped.

"We are so excited to be unveiling our program for this year's Little BIGSOUND," the event's youth curator, Fiona Campbell, said in a statement.

"Music is such an important part of our lives and Little BIGSOUND has given us a chance to work in the area we love. Being able to organise an event that opens a window into such an exciting industry has been amazing."

Also at the event will be rising Mackay duo Tia & Jack, who will be on hand to provide live performance, while additional artists selected through the applications process will have the opportunity to also play during the event's lunch break.

Artist applications for this year's Little BIGSOUND event open from this Friday, 29 May, for four days only  so that's a deadline of midnight on Monday, 1 June, with the results set to be announced on Wednesday, 10 June. 

Little BIGSOUND itself runs from 8.30pm-3.30pm on Monday, 27 July, at the Judith Wright Centre, Fortitude Valley. For more information, see the official website.
