Melbourne Artist Recasts George Costanza As The Rest Of Pop Culture

[backs away slowly]

For some reason, all this month, Melbourne-based artist, graphic designer, illustrator and generally talented guy Nicko Phillips has been posting a portrait of iconic Seinfeld character George Costanza to his Instagram account as part of his "30 Days Of Costanza" project.

Each portrait is nominally identical, except for aesthetic deviations taken by Phillips to recast the eternally put-upon neurotic as a raft of real-life and fictional characters from across the pop-culture spectrum, with the collection now taking in variants such as Skeletor Costanza, Mike Tyson Costanza, Terminator Costanza, Garfield Costanza, Snoop Doggy Costanza, Frank Reynolds (Danny DeVito) Costanza, Jules Winnfield (Samuel L Jackson) Costanza, Wayne Campbell Costanza and Kirk Van Houten-Costanza.

It's a freaking Costanza bonanza up in here. Check out a selection of Phillips' excellent — though undeniably somewhat unsettling — pics below, then head to his Instagram page to see the rest of the series.

Great job, Nicko. All the soup for you.

And to think, it all started with an innocuous pic of regular old George Costanza. Keep checking Phillips' Instagram — there are a few days of the #30DaysOfCostanza to go.
