Maroochy Music Festival Slates In DZ Deathrays, Gang Of Youths And More

Maroochydore in Queensland's postcard-friendly Sunshine Coast are bringing an explosive line-up to their shores, in the form of the Maroochy Music And Visual Arts Festival this August.

The inaugural festival will see Brisbane dance punk duo DZ Deathrays take the stage, as well as the young Sydney band on everyone's lips Gang Of Youths, acclaimed electro duo Hermitude, The Kite String Tangle (who we interviewed with Dustin Tebbutt on Periscope), Hiatus Kaiyote, Alpine and more. 

There's also a secret headliner who is said to have "played at some of the world's biggest festivals this year", so keep your eyes peeled for that.

World-class visual artist Amanda Parer will also be bringing her life size Intruder installation to the venue, whose five giant inflatable bunnies you may remember from Vivid Sydney's Light exhibit last year. The illuminated bunnies have also hopped their way around Berlin, London, Belgium and Tokyo. 

The one-day festival on 22 August will be held at the Horton Park Gold Course and will play host to a bunch of delicious culinary treats, art stalls, a visual arts gallery and a natural amphitheatre… with couches.
