More I Know Leopard More I Know Leopard

Up-and-coming Sydney outfit I Know Leopard have had a massive 12 months since the release of their debut EP Illumina almost exactly a year ago, and now the growing wave of support behind them is paying off in a big way with the news that they have signed a global deal with renowned organisation Universal Music Publishing Australia.

Announced today by UMPA's managing director, Bob Aird, and A&R director Heath Johns, the deal heralds the beginning of a new, more assured chapter for the band following a year of steadily widening their reach via considerable airplay for singles such as She and Hold This Tight before more recent release Daisy Eyes confirmed the group's place as one of the country's must-watch young acts.

"We are icnredibly pleased to welcome I Know Leopard into the Universal Music Publishing family," Johns said in a statement. "Their songs are emotive, finely crafed and they are a very impressive live proposition. We look forward to helping them build their career at home and abroad."

For the band's part, they're equally excited by the new prospects afforded them by their deal. "We are so excited to be working with the team at UMP," I Know Leopard frontman Luke O'Loughlin said. "They really seem to identify with where we are coming from musically and fully support our vision. It's nice to feel nurtured at this stage of our career and know that our songs are in good hands."
