Ascendant Aussie actor Luke Arnold has walked away from the 2015 Logie Awards the freshly minted winner of the Silver Logie for Most Outstanding Actor for his role as Michael Hutchence in last year's Channel Seven industry biopic INXS: Never Tear Us Apart.

Arnold fended off challenges from a who's who of esteemed local actors, including The Code's Ashley Zukerman, Devil's Playground's John Noble, Secrets & Lies' Martin Henderson and Rake's Richard Roxburgh, to take the award — the only win for either Never Tear Us Apart or one of its cast members, despite multiple nominations.

In the category of Most Outstanding Miniseries or Telemovie, Never Tear Us Apart was beaten to the punch by Devil's Playground (Foxtel/Showcase), while Arnold's second nomination, for Most Popular Actor, couldn't quite muster the win from Home And Away's Stephen Peacocke. Additionally, in the case of Most Popular New Talent, where the biopic had two entries — Laura Brent and Samantha Jade — Love Child's Miranda Tapsell emerged victorious for the Nine Network. Finally, in an echo of the Most Popular Actor scenario, Home And Away trumped the biopic to take out Most Popular Drama Program.

Other winners for the evening included Hamish & Andy's Gap Year South America (Most Popular Entertainment Program, Nine Network), The Living Room (Most Popular Lifestyle Program, Network Ten), Utopia (Most Outstanding Comedy Program, ABC), Asher Keddie (Most Popular Actress, Offspring, Network Ten), and Carrie Bickmore, who took out the Silver Logie for Most Popular Presenter as well as the Gold Logie.
