New Wave Sound & Musify + Gamify

Sydney's annual Vivid program will be collaborating with the Seymour Centre for a third year, in conjunction with the University of Sydney, to play host to an array of events including New Wave Sound and Musify + Gamify.

New Wave Sound features four days of creative musical events from Thursday, 28 May — namely award-winning Sydney composer Andrée Greenwell's GothicGothic will feature Greenwell's dark but beautiful compositions weaving together the poetry of Edgar Allan Poe and the likes of writers such as Hugo Race, Alison Croggon and Felicity Plunkett.

Curated by Ollie Brown and Lian Loke, Musify + Gamify explores the spaces where music-play and game-play meet, and delves into the concept of interactive design. The event features two experimental music concerts with artists like Ensemble Offspring, Robbie Avenaim and Chris Abrahams, 7Bit Hero and BAFTA-nominated game composer, Dvid Kanaga. These unique events will kick off on Friday, 29 May.

An exhibition featuring works by Luca Abela, Michaela Davies, Stephen Barrass, The Futile Research Lab and Frank Feltham will also run from Wednesday, 27 May to Saturday, 6 June.
