The Lord Gladstone Hotel, in Chippendale, already has regular cultural offerings in the pipeline

Sydney inner-city suburb Chippendale is about to receive a freshly renovated player on its burgeoning cultural scene in the form of The Lord Gladstone Hotel, which has emerged from its considerable interior works ready to offer punters a wide selection of nourishment for the stomach and soul alike in a lockout-free environment.

Savvy socialites are probably already aware of The Lord Gladstone's arrival in Chippendale, as the pub continued operations right through its six-week-or-so transition from its old moniker of the Gladstone Hotel, boldly hosting madcap after-parties for the likes of Sticky Fingers, Horrorshow and One Day amid the ongoing reconstruction, as well as bringing in Little Bastard for a live showing in the venue's beer garden, as a delicious taster of future potential for the space.

Aside from just-started monthly art exhibitions in new neighbouring gallery Goodspace — the first of which, Process, opened last week with work from artists such as Chris Yee, James Jirat Patradoon, Georgia Hill, Beastman and Numskull, among others — there aren't a wealth of details as to consequent live offerings planned to grace The Lord Gladstone; however, with administrative vision coming from the same folks behind The Vic Enmore and Toxteth pubs, we can expect it will be keeping its focus on delivering food (gotta put the freshly completed kitchen to good use somehow!), drinks, live music, DJ sets, art exhibitions and general enjoyment to the faithful, so be sure to keep an eye on the venue's Facebook page for future announcements as to what's happening at the good Lord.

The Lord Gladstone Hotel is open seven days a week for lunch and dinner, closing 3am Thursday-Saturday.
