He joined the lineup for punk-rock band, Blink-182 at some recent shows last month as a temporary replacement for estranged member, Tom Delonge.

But in an interview with Alternative NationMatt Skiba, frontman of Alkaline Trio said that joining the famous band permanently may be on the cards.

"…It’s something we have discussed…It’s something I would be very excited to do and I’ve known the Blink guys for about fifteen years and we’ve become good friends.”

“Playing songs I haven’t written with [Mark Hoppus and Travis Barker] is a blast, so to go in and create music with them would be amazing.”

He went on to say that it is a complicated situation, but he would jump at the chance to join Blink full time.

"There’s some time and some things that those guys need to figure out before we can start saying I’m a permanent member. But that is a hope of mine".

Meanwhile, Delonge has this week released his first solo album since falling out with his band of 23 years in February, which included demos intended for future Blink songs.

He has yet to officially state whether he has left the San Diego formed group or not, so die hard fans will be hoping that the band can put their differences aside and reunite.

Skiba however maintains that he and Delonge are friends, and that while the two haven't spoken since the fallout, his joining of Blink was in no way personal.

"Every experience I had with Tom was positive while touring with him in the past. So, there is no bad blood between us, or at least not from my end."
