Splendour In The Grass favourites, bad news for Jack White fans and more

If you’ve had a bit of a chaotic week and are looking for a way to catch up on some stories that might have slipped by you, we’ve got you covered. Welcome to another Second Chance Sunday!

Splendour In The Grass dropped their highly anticipated line-up on Wednesday, complete with headliners Tame Impala, The Wombats and more. Those bands are great, but we compiled a list of some other acts that you mightn’t know yet. If you’re lucky enough to make the trip to Byron Bay Parkland in July, make sure you don’t miss these guys.

US alt-rocker Brand New dropped their first new song in six year during the week. It follows the band relaunching their website and playing another new song live. We can only assume this is band teasing their long awaited fifth studio album. Slow and steady wins the race, as evident with new song Mene.

You didn’t think this would all be good news, did you? Unfortunately much-loved musicians Jack White has decided to take a break from live performances for “a long period of time”. He’ll be playing a bunch of acoustic shows across the US before he does, so you might want to start looking at flights.

We had the pleasure of premiering the latest film clip from Bollywood-inspired band The Bombay Royale during the week. The video for Wild Stallion Heart been described as “Eurovision on acid in Mumbai”, which is a pretty fair descriptor.

Everyone enjoys a story that favours an underdog, and this week saw a win for digital music. The International Federation Of The Phonographic Industry released its annual report, which found that digital music revnue is now on par with that of physical sales for the first time ever.

We caught up with Modest Mouse to get an insight into their sixth album, Strangers To Ourselves. May contain voluminous swearing.
