Blacktown-bred deathcore outfit Thy Art Is Murder are preparing for the release of their third studio full-length, Holy War, this June, but ahead of that album's drop comes even more good news for the band: that they have been snapped up by venerated local label UNFD.

In the three years since the release of their debut full-length, Hate, Thy Art Is Murder have asserted themselves as one of the nation's foremost acts among the heavy set, launching their career to international heights with tours in Europe and the US and routinely selling out venues at home. They join an existing roster of acts under UNFD's purview that includes contemporaries such as The Amity Affliction, In Hearts Wake, Buried In Verona and Northlane, as well as artists such as veteran punks Bodyjar, Dead Letter Circus, Deez Nuts, Hand Of Mercy, Storm The Sky, Hellions and more.

Said UNFD A&R man Luke Logemann: "I've been a fan of Thy Art for years, and I have no doubt this band can become one of the biggest metal bands ever in this country. Holy War is one of the most intense and creative records I've heard in years, and we are super-proud to be a part of this movement."

The band seem equally jazzed by their new signing, with guitarist Andy Marsh saying in a statement: "I've known the UNFD guys for years and they've always been a bunch of fun and professional guys and girls that help their bands grow and are truly in the business for the fun and excitement that music brings.

"Holy War is our most important work to date and we needed a good label to help launch it in Australia, so we went to the best label in the country. Luke and the team have been crushing every detail since before we even put pen to paper, and I can't wait to see our teamwork deliver what we all believe to be the most crushing release of 2015."

The 10-track Holy War — which Marsh describes as the band's "war on racism, homophobia, child abuse, animal cruelty and all evil born of religious immunity, indoctrination and ignorance" — will be released through UNFD on Friday, 26 June, with pre-orders set to launch for the record next Friday, 24 April.
