The Cops To Return For Exclusive Shows After Seven Year Hiatus

It's been seven years since we've heard anything from Australian band, The Cops. 

After forming in 2003 and releasing two EP's and two studio albums, the Sydney-based group went on an indefinite hiatus in 2008.

However, fans can rejoice, albeit briefly, with the announcement that a new-look version of the band are set to perform two shows highlighting material from their earliest, to their latest work, starting next month. 

Lead singer Simon Carter trumpeted the return today, "I am so goddamn happy to announce that The Cops will return to the stage from a seven-year hiatus to play two shows solely focusing on our destructo-fuzz-rock debut album Stomp On Tripwires, as well as material from live shows and our other release of that era, The Cops EP.

"This time around, I'm bringing a different stable of stallions into The Cops family including Cec Condon from The Mess Hall, Archi Fires from the Hell City Glamours and Black Ryder, James Roden from The City Lights and, of course, Toddy [Smith] from The Cops"

The band will first take to the stage in Melbourne on 23 May at the Northcote Social Club, before they head to Sydney where they will perform at the Newtown Social Club on 24 July.
