Beloved veteran Oz-rockers AC/DC have announced that they will be setting off for a series of shows around the country in honour of their recently released 17th studio full-length and fifth Aussie #1 recordRock Or Bust, this November.

It's the first time homeland fans will have the opportunity to catch the band in the flesh in five years — they last toured here in 2010 — and, as such, are taking their still-vital show on the road to the five mainland state capitals from Wednesday, 4 November, when they get under way at ANZ Stadium in Sydney.

The tour will also mark the debut performance Down Under of recently conscripted member Stevie Young, the nephew of ailing long-time player Malcolm, while former drummer Chris Slade — who bashed the skins with the band for a handful of years from 1989 — will fill in for the embattled Phil Rudd.

The entire tour is fittingly stadium-sized, with consequent appearances scheduled at Brisbane's QSAC on Thursday, 12 November; Adelaide Oval on Saturday, 21 November; Domain Stadium, Perth, on Friday, 27 November; and Etihad Stadium, in Melbourne, where they'll bring the Aussie leg of festivities to its conclusion on Sunday, 6 December.

The impending Aussie sojourn will find AC/DC in newly rejuvenated form, still riding high off their high-profile, inaugural performance at the Grammy Awards last year — the first time they'd appeared on US TV in almost 15 years — and will be making their first showing at a festival in a fifth of a century when they hit the States again to headline the renowned annual Coachella festival, the first weekend of which kicks off today, 10 April (US time).

Tickets will go on sale on Monday, 20 April, with the band keeping things nice and affordable with two set prices — $99 for seated tickets, and $159 for GA & seated tickets — and will be available via Ticketek and Ticketmaster (Perth and Melbourne). The wider Rock Or Bust world tour kicks off next month in the Netherlands.
