Nobody would argue that it's hard work being a festival security guard. It's pretty thankless, physical stuff, not shy on opportunities to go absolutely haywire should too much or too little force be applied in any given situation — and, with all the noise, flashing lights, and bodies getting about, it's not always easy to figure out the limits.

That seems to have been the misfortune that befell a stage guard at this week's Bluesfest event in Byron Bay, namely during Sticky Fingers' set, when, mistaking frontman Dylan Frost for a wayward punter following a stage dive. Missing the part where Frost had been up on stage as a performing artist before taking the leap, the security guard did what security guards are paid to do and tackled Frost to the ground as a crowd of stunned StiFi fans looked on and filmed it.

Despite Frost's annoyed comment once he returns to the stage - "Yeah, praise this fuckin' dickhead down here," - it appears no major harm was done, with Sticky Fingers later taking to Facebook (alongside the above footage) and saying, "Mr Guardman turned out to be a lovely bloke and was heaps apologetic, but what a laugh!"
