Sydney blues-rock favourites The Snowdroppers have announced that they have reached what they call an "amicable settlement" with defaulting digital distributor Valleyarm after the band accused the company of withholding thousands of dollars in royalty payments earlier this week.

Taking to Facebook this morning, the band wrote that "as of today, an amicable settlement has been reached with Valleyarm".

"We've also been made aware several other artists we've spoken to over the last couple of days have also been paid," they wrote. "We'd like to sincerely thank our fans and fellow musicians for the overwhelming amount of support you've shown us. Time for us to get on with the business of making music."

The Snowdroppers concluded their update with the news that they would be making a donation to the APRA-founded charity Support Act, to pay their good fortune forward to other musicians needing an extra hand in difficult circumstances.

"We've decided to make a donation to a great charity founded by APRA: http://supportact.org.au/ who provide a safety net for musicians facing financial hardship," they wrote. "A great cause next time you're looking for a charity to get behind."

The band has since deleted their original post, in which they detailed the specifics of their dispute with Valleyarm, alleging that they had been owed more than $8500 in unpaid iTunes royalties over a period of two years, but you can bring yourself up to speed here if you missed part one of the saga.
