The latin-soul outfit fended off four other acts to wow the evening's judges

Latin-soul smooth-rock outfit Nothin But Jam will embark on a residency worth $10,000 today after walking away the winners of the Discovered At Marble Bar band competition, held at the Hilton Sydney last night.

Beating back efforts from fellow finalists Night Light Band, Rory Cross, AJ "The Piano Man" Dyce and Death Do Us Part, Nothin But Jam resoundingly impressed the evenings judges, who included former X Factor star Reece Mastin, Rolling Stone Australia's Rod Yates, EMI Music A&R man Mark Holland, and The Music's own Sally-Anne Hurley.

Said Mastin of the event: "Each band brought it to the stage tonight, and everyone gave an incredible performance, but it was Nothin But Jam that ultimately set them[selves] apart from their competitiors."

Have a listen to their original track Sweet Butterfly, below, to get a sense of the sort of smooth grooves and refined performance ethic on which NBJ rode to victory, and give their Facebook page a look-see.
