Two Aussies who are currently making big waves overseas, Courtney Barnett and Alison Wonderland are in a race to finish in this week's ARIA Albums Chart top five.

The ladies with vastly different styles released their debut albums last week - Barnett unveiling Sometimes I Sit And Think, And Sometimes I Just Sit and Wonderland dropping Run. Midweek figures suggest both could crack the top five, though British singer-songwriter James Bay is set to land the biggest debut of the week, with his record Chaos And The Calm mounting a challenge for Kendrick Lamar's current number one spot.

It's been a big couple of weeks for Barnett, particularly in the States, with SXSW showcases and a recent appearance on Ellen, while Wonderland, who's enjoyed mega buzz recently thanks to her Wayne Coyne collaboration U Don't Know, is gearing up to play Coachella next month.

There'll be a handful of other albums debuting this week, including the new compilation from recent headline-makers Little River Band, The Definitive Collection. The album is expected to land somewhere in the top 30.

In terms of singles, keep an eye out for Brisbane artist Jarryd James to creep into the top five thanks to his track Do You Remember. The song has been building over the coming weeks and currently sits at eight.

New tracks set to make impact this week also include James Bay again with Let It Go, Jess Glynne's Hold My Hand and Carley Rae Jepsen's I Really Like You.
