Veteran English rockers Muse have confirmed that their eagerly awaited next album, Drones — their first new full-length in three years — will be released in less than three months, hitting shelves on Friday, 5 June, via Warner Music.

The 12-track album follows on from 2012's eclectic collection The 2nd Law, and the announcement of its release date comes just under a fortnight ahead of the official unveiling of the full-length's first single, Dead Inside, on 23 March, but you won't have to wait even that long for a proper taste - the album's third track, Psycho will premiere on YouTube from 5am (AEDT) tomorrow, so if you're up nice and early you can be among the first in the world to hear it (but if you enjoy your sleep-ins, fear not - the song will be available immediately upon placing a pre-order for the full album, from 6.30am AEDT).

"To me, 'Drones' are metaphorical psychopaths which enable psychopathic behaviour with no recourse," frontman Matt Bellamy said in a statement. "The world is run by Drones utilising Drones to turn us all into Drones. The album explores the journey of a human, from their abandonment and loss of hope, to their indoctrination by the system to be a human drone, to their eventual defection from their oppressors."

You can take a gander at the album art and full track list below, then set that alarm nice and early for your first dose of Drones in the morning.
