The Tasmanian upstart will play a series of launch shows in March to celebrate

More Asta More Asta

Unearthed High 2012 winner Asta has been keeping a little quiet of late, but that's all set to change with the Tasmanian songstress' hotly touted return to active duty, the first taste of which comes in the form of new single Dynamite, featuring none other than fellow wunderkind and hip hop luminary Allday.

The track made its public debut on triple j's weeknightly Good Nights program with Linda Marigliano and showcases an evident evolution for the ascendant chanteuse, blending R&B with soul-pop sensibilities that would make Whitney Houston proud. Dynamite was co-written by Asta and producer Andrew Kippel (Chaka Khan, Earth Wind & Fire), and mixed by master desk-man Sam Littlemore (Peking Duk — High).

Although you can hear it in all its studio glory below, Asta will be launching the single with a series of south-eastern shows late next month, performing at the Tasmanian International Arts Festival on Thursday, 26 March, and taking in appearances in Melbourne (27 March), at The Hills Are Alive festival (28 March) and Sydney, for an Easter Thursday performance on 2 April.

Tickets for all shows are available via relevant venues and events; see theGuide or check The Music App for more information.
