The Peninsula Picnic hits the Mornington Peninsula at the end of next month

Victoria's impending inaugural The Peninsula Picnic festival is just over a month away, and in the wake of December's music line-up announcement — in which we learnt the event would be headlined by the likes of The Waifs and Paul Dempsey — organisers have unveiled the next important aspect of the rural revelry: the wine list.

Featuring the finest in drinkable crushed grapes from local cellars such as pinot noir specialists Circe, bespoke producers Montalto, the family-owned Crittenden EstateMerrick's General Wine Store (purveyors of Balieu Estate, Elgee Park and Quealy wines), biodynamic pioneers Prancing Horse and pinot gris experts T'Gallant, the Peninsula Picnic aims to provide a healthy balance of entertainment as well as refreshment for body and soul in kind, offering not just the spread of quality drops from the local vineyards but a broad array of locally sourced produce from the region's wineries, restaurants and farmers.

In addition to The Waifs and Dempsey, punters will be treated to sets from Pierce Brothers, Tinpan Orange and Hayden Calnin — plus appearances from culinary experts Ian Curley (Kirk's Wine Bar) and Pierre Khodja (Terminus at Flinders Hotel) — when the Peninsula Picnic rolls through the region on Sunday, 29 March.

Tickets for this year's event are available now; check all the details in theGuide or The Music App. The Peninsula Picnic is presented by The Music.
