Good news, fans: the Grammy Awards weren't just a once-off

More AC/DC More AC/DC

Australian hard rock legends AC/DC have unveiled a run of shows in North America planned for August and September but, more excitingly for the rest of us, they've also confirmed the return of former drummer and Grammys fill-in Chris Slade to the kit as their touring percussionist.

As Billboard reports, Slade will be performing with his old bandmates on all dates of the US and Canadian tour (which is being held in support of recent full-length Rock Or Bust), while the press release itself contains a telling photograph with a certain veteran rhythmist peeking out the back, looking like he hasn't missed a day:

Slade originally drummed for the band from 1989 to 1994, making his return to the group for the Grammys ceremony earlier this week following long-serving drummer Phil Rudd's protracted legal and personal problems. At the time, it wasn't clear that Slade would continue on with the band for their consequent tour dates in North America and, later, Europe, but it looks like — for the immediate future, at least, the old boy is here to stay.
