Triple J, Mushroom Music Legend Up For International Industry Awards

Publicly funded broadcaster triple j and Mushroom Music Publishing veteran Ian James are the two Aussie representatives in the 2015 International Music Industry Awards.

It is the second time the annual awards have been held, and winners will be announced at the Hollywood Roosevelt Hotel Wednesday 29 April as part of A&R Worldwide's MUSEXPO global music conference.

With awards decided by public vote, triple j has been nominated for Best Radio Station In The World alongside Holland’s 3FM, the UK’s BBC Radio 1 and USA’s SiriusXM.

James, who has been with Mushroom for over 27 years and is the publishing arm’s Managing Director is up for Music Publisher Of The Year. He’s up against other industry heavyweights including Jody Gerson, Chairman and CEO of Universal Music Publishing Group worldwide; Ron Perry, President and Head Of A&R at SONGS Music Publishing in the USA; and Willard Ahdritz, Founder and CEO of the Kobalt Music Group worldwide.

New Zealand’s No Wyld has been nominated for The Best Emerging Artist In the World alongside the UK’s Laurel, Germany’s Malky and Sweden’s Tove Stryke.

Music industry professionals are invited to vote across all categories until Monday 23 February.
