Veteran UK rock identity Johnny Marr has unveiled the rescheduled dates for his previously postponed tour of Australia and New Zealand, the ex-Smiths guitarist now planning to hit stages in Australia and New Zealand in July this year.

However, although Marr has released new dates (and, in Perth's case, a new venue) for five of the six previously scheduled shows, fans living in Brisbane will be left wanting, as their gig has been cancelled entirely.

Marr will now commence his antipodean journey at Auckland's Powerstation on Thursday, 16 July, jumping the ditch to Perth's new digs of Metropolis on Saturday, 18 July, and heading on to Sydney's Enmore Theatre on 20 July, The Gov, in Adelaide, on 21 July, and Melbourne's Forum Theatre on 22 July.

Existing ticketholders who are able to make the new dates can rest easy — just rock up with your pass as you would have, as your details are unchanged. If you can't make it, however, then you are able to obtain a refund from the original point of purchase before Friday, 6 February.

For Brisbane fans, it's all a little more involved — according to a statement from tour organisers Frontier Touring, "If you booked online or over the phone, funds will automatically be refunded back to the credit card you used to purchase the tickets. It can take some time to process, so please allow up to five days for the funds to appear back in your account.

"If your original card has expired or is no longer valid (prepaid Visa and MasterCard included), please get in touch with the Ticketmaster Customer Service Team before 30 January 2015 via 13 61 00 between 9am and 8pm AEDT Monday to Saturday, or 9am-5pm AEDT Sunday and a refund via cheque will be arranged.

"If you purchased your tickets at a Ticketmaster outlet, please return to the outlet with the tickets and credit card used to make the booking. The outlet staff will help you with your refund."

Phew. Got that?

For everybody else, ticket sales for the rescheduled dates kicked off at 11am local time today (1pm local for Auckland). See theGuide or check The Music App for more information. Johnny Marr will be joined by Flyying Colours throughout the journey (Aussie shows only).

Don't forget, you can still get in with a chance to win Marr's signature Fender Jaguar guitar, valued at more than $3500, as part of the tour's Johnny Mar Fender Jaguar guitar competition. Get across the details at Frontier's website.
