More Chet Faker More Chet Faker

Chet Faker capped off a storming 2014 with a win in the triple j Hottest 100 earlier this week and is currently enjoying a sales boost because of it.

Faker’s Talk Is Cheap took home the top spot in the world’s biggest music poll and the track could jump almost 40 places in the ARIA Singles Chart this week. Sitting at 52 currently, midweek figures suggest that it could reach the top ten by Friday night. Such a position would blitz its previous high point of 31.

There will also be a rise for Faker’s album Built On Glass, the former number one album will push up from 13 into the top ten again.

Other Hottest 100 boosts are being enjoyed by The Preatures (Blue Planet Eyes will rise from 35) and The Amity Affliction (Let The Ocean Take Me is climbing form 62).

In the ARIA Albums Chart the highest debut will come from Soundwave-bound Marilyn Manson’s The Pale Emperor, which is looking at a top five debut. A strong end to the week could see Pond’s Man It Feels Like Space Again sneak into the top ten. Metal group Periphery have two albums charting this week and both Juggernaut: Alpha and Juggernaut: Omega will enter around the 20 mark.

Catfish & The Bottlemen’s The Balcony will enter in the top 50, behind Papa Roach’s F.E.A.R and Hardwell’s We Are United.

The top spot is looking like a duel between Taylor Swift’s 1989 and Mark Ronson’s Uptown Special currently, with Ronson’s album benefiting from the fact that single Uptown Funk, featuring Bruno Mars, landed at six on the Hottest 100.

There will also be boosts this week for INXS’s The Very Best and Cold Chisel’s The Best Of Cold Chisel.

In the ARIA Singles Chart the midweek figures are showing a debut for Ellie Goulding’s Love Me Like You Do within the top ten, with Wretch 32’s 6 Words, Mashd N Kutcher’s Do It Now and Phillip George’s Wish You Were Mine behind her.

Currently 13th, Robin Schulz featuring Jasmine Thompson’s Sun Goes Down will push into the top ten, ahead of Avicii’s The Nights, Guy Sebastian’s Linger and G.R.L.’s Lighthouse – all of which are having strong weeks.
