Exclusive Bali Songwriting Camp Reveals Details Of First European Expansion

Dates for 2015 invite-only camp announced

The exclusive annual Bali Songwriting Invitation recently expanded to Europe ahead of the next Indonesian pilgrimage, with Aussie songwriter Stuart Crichton working with some of the world’s top writers.

Run by Universal Music Australia’s co-Managing Director Michael Taylor and Bill Silva Management’s Peter Coquillard, the week-long camps bring together songwriters from all over the work to collaborate. After completing its fifth year in 2014, the Bali camp expanded to Montenegro in October.

Held on the 50-metre super yacht of SAE founder Tom Misner, Universal have released the names who attended the first European jaunt.

Alongside Crichton, who has Kylie Minogue and Selena Gomez credits to his name, the other attendees included:

At least 18 songs were composed and demoed in the yacht’s recording facilities during the week.

"Mike Taylor and I have been discussing additional events, while keeping a unique and first class experience for the attendees," said Coquillard of the first European week. "When Tom expressed interest in hosting an event it was the perfect opportunity to do so."

The next Bali Invitational — which will be the sixth — will take place Sunday 24 May to Tuesday 2 June in Ubud, Bali. Previous attendees have included 360, Megan Washington, Nick Jonas, Delta Goodrem and The Presets’ Julian Hamilton. Universal Publishing and APRA AMCOS are sponsors of the Bali event.
