The renowned pop-culture convention returns in April

It feels as though the dust has hardly settled after November's recent Supanova conventions in Adelaide and Brisbane, but the ball is continues to roll on 2015 with the additions of Buffy The Vampire Slayer alumnus James Marsters and Teen Wolf's Tyler Hoechlin to the line-up for April's leg in Melbourne and the Gold Coast.

Although best-known for his work as Coolest Vampire EverTM Spike on Joss Whedon's seminal nosferatu-busting dramedy and its capable spin-off, Angel, Marsters spent a considerable stint as Brainiac on now-defunct Superman origin tale Smallville as well as finding time to front the mic for California rock outfit Ghost Of The Robot. With a role this year in Lifetime supernatural drama East End Witches keeping him busy, Marsters is making the most of his post-Buffy run and remains an alluring character for conventions such as Supanova as a result.

Hoechlin, meanwhile, is already enjoying his second life, having survived a recurring lead stint on 7th Heaven after breaking out as Tom Hanks' kid in Road To Perdition (2002). He's spent the past four years making everyone with a pulse swoon as dark'n'broody lycan Derek Hale in Teen Wolf, as improbable a career turnaround as the fact that there's a successful TV show based on Teen Wolf to begin with.

Hoechlin and Marsters join a previously announced cabal of drawcards such as original Green/White Ranger, now-MMA-fighter, Jason David Frank, Merlin duo Eoin Macken (Gwaine) and Alexander Vlahos (Mordred), Adventure Time's Jessica DiCicco (Flame Princess), the original artist of The Walking Dead, Tony Moore, and geek-rock outfit Kirby Krackle.

Supanova 2015 comes to Melbourne Showgrounds on 11-12 April, heading to the Gold Coast Convention and Exhibition Centre on 18-19 April. Tickets for next year's event will go on sale sometime in March. In the interim, you can check out Supanova's webpage to get across what they're planning for the new year.
