Fellow superstar Sia makes it into the top ten

More Iggy Azalea More Iggy Azalea

Unstoppable Aussie expats and Grammy nominees Iggy Azalea and Sia have made the top ten year-end list for the country's most watched music videos on YouTube, with the former's runaway hit Fancy, featuring Charli XCX, taking out the honours of having the highest number of views for any song clip on the streaming video site this year.

The controversial hip-hop artist also made the global top ten with Fancy, which came in at #7 in the broader stats. But there was no beating the '90s vibes and Clueless motif of Azalea's video, which managed to trounce all other comers, including runner-up Nicki Minaj and her once-ubiquitous clip for Anaconda.

Sia, meanwhile, slides in just outside the top five, with the Sia-less Chandelier video earning the celebrated songstress the #6 ranking, just behind Taylor Swift's Shake It OffKaty Perry (Dark Horse, featuring Juicy J, #3) — who topped the global list — and Meghan Trainor (All About That Bass, #4) fill in the gaps.

An interesting — if somewhat unsurprising — statistic to emerge going down the list is the total domination of female artists, with #Selfie, by NYC duo The Chainsmokers, being the only male-centric music video to make the list. The New York lads are sandwiched at #8 between Ariana Grande's Problem (#7), which also features Iggy Azalea, and Katy Perry once again, whose This Is How We Do netted #9. The list is rounded out by veteran chanteuse Shakira and her Rihanna-featuring Can't Remember To Forget You (which was a much-higher-placed #2 in the global stakes).

If you're looking for something with a slightly more viral bent, it bears mentioning that Frozen sing-along was the country's top trending video in general this year. Then again, that list also features a dog wearing a spider costume, a smug person telling other smug people not to use their phones so much, and a possibly-fake-but-maybe-not clip of a guy coming a bit too close to a great white for comfort.
