But Adelaide was "praised" by police for its crowd's behaviour

Victorian, Queensland and South Australian police have collectively charged more than 240 people with drug-related offences after Stereosonic events in Melbourne, Brisbane and Adelaide this weekend past.

According to state police, in Brisbane, 123 people were arrested from among the 20,000-strong crowd and charged with 127 offences, including supplying a dangerous drug, possession of dangerous drugs, and miscellaneous drug and property charges.

In Melbourne, a further 120 were charged with a similar spread of offences.

In Adelaide, Police said they were "generally pleased" with the South Australian leg, with police reporting a total of ten arrests across the two days. 57 people were evicted.

Among the "significant amount" of contraband found by police across the events were MDMA/ecstasy, cocaine, cannabis, LSD, methylamphetamine and GHB.

The accused are expected to face their respective state magistrate courts in the coming weeks. In making its statement about the arrests, Queensland Police offered a final plea to punters about the use of illicit drugs at music festivals.

"Police would like to take this opportunity to remind the public of the health risks associated with the consumption of illicit drugs, which can prove fatal," QPS said.

Detective Senior Sergeant Mark Pilkington of Victorian Police said, "At the end of the day, as a user, you really have no idea what you are putting in your body, and you have no idea what it will do to you."

Last weekend's Sydney leg of the two-day dance festival saw about 220 people charged with drug-related offences, only a couple of weeks after NSW police explicitly referenced a perceived link between EDM and drug use.
