A couple of classic anthems make the cut

More Cold Chisel More Cold Chisel

This year's additions to the Sounds Of Australia registry have been revealed, with a handful of much-loved Aussie songs now part of the archive.

The notable additions include pub rock stalwarts Cold Chisel and their classic Khe Sanh, the provocative Boys In Town from the Divinyls, The Go-Betweens' signature track Cattle and Cane and Icehouse anthem Great Southern Land.

Indigenous radio program Deadly Sounds also made the cut for its contribution over a 21-year period.

And a dingo howling also made the list (yes, we are serious). An official recording of a dingo howling in the Northern Territory, which was taped by landscape artist Vicki Powys was among the 2014 additions.
