The current tour of music legends The Rolling Stones has put the iconic outfit at the top of the current highest grossing band list.

According to Billboard, the Stones have grossed over $23 million ($23,592,983 to be exact) from their recent shows in Adelaide, Perth and Melbourne, putting them on top of the latest Hot Tours figures.

Perth Arena proved to be the biggest earner for the band, generating $9.8 million, making them the highest grossing earner at that venue for the year, while the opening show at Adelaide Oval generating $8.9 million. Melbourne's Rod Laver Arena raked in $4.8 million, which was the venue's highest grossing concert of the year.

The figures did not include the Sydney show from last week or the Hunter Valley show from this weekend. The Stones also had to cancel last week's show at Hanging Rock while frontman Mick Jagger recovered from a sore throat.

The gross revenue for the Stones tour was miles ahead of the next best tour from latin musician Vincente Fernandez, who generated just over $7 million.

The final show of the Stones Aussie run will take place tomorrow night at the Brisbane Entertainment Centre.
