More Lorde More Lorde

The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 1 has been somewhat ubiquitous in the last month or so, since the release of the film's initial trailer and unveiling of soundtrack curator Lorde's lead single Yellow Flicker Beat

With the soundtrack's most recent tantalising taste coming from CHVRCHES this week in the form of their contribution, Dead Air, the prodigious Kiwi is now celebrating her 18th birthday by releasing the eagerly awaited video accompaniment for Yellow Flicker Beat. That's right; Lorde can kick back and celebrate, comfortable in the knowledge that she had globally released a Hunger Games-related music video before she was old enough to legally drink.

The clip does a fine job of visualising the dark-pop vibes and ethereal bursts that permeate Yellow Flicker Beat's arrangement, transplanting Lorde between dank hotel room and empty auditorium, dimly lit spaces, a super-depressing pool and, at one stage, singing into some blinds.
