The Coalition Government has delivered $4 million to upgrade the site of the former Collingwood Technical School.

The Hon Heidi Victoria MP, Minister for the Arts, has unveiled a new contemporary arts precinct, located in Collingwood. The site of the former Collingwood Technical School — which incorporates the new Circus Oz facility and the heritage-listed Keith Haring mural — will house multiple Victorian arts organisations as well as public spaces for exhibitions, events, small creative enterprises and hospitality venues.

The Coalition Government has delivered $4 million to upgrade the site and the project will be driven by a new charitable organisation called Contemporary Arts Precincts. This contribution equals half of the funding needed to fulfil the project.

"Now, through Contemporary Arts Precincts, we look forward to the philanthropic sector joining us to realise this vision,” Ms Victoria said.

The new project aims to reinvigorate the old buildings and serve as a hub of creativity that will give back to artists, audiences and the community.
