The ascendant electro luminary continues to gather momentum

Las Vegas-bred electro upstart Shamir, known to his mum as Shamir Bailey, has achieved a lot before his 20th birthday, and now the rising muso can add to the list his signing to renowned label XL Recordings, just in time to share brand new single On The Regular with the world.

The signing and new track come in the wake of the release of debut EP Northtown, which dropped earlier this year via New York-based label Godmode. Shamir's new place among the XL Recordings roster sees him share label space with the esteemed likes of Adele, FKA twigs, Jack White, M.I.A., The Prodigy, Sigur Ros and The xx, among others — not bad a man all of 19 years old.

Northtown was a particularly limited release — only 100 copies were pressed — but it now stands to grace a much larger group of ears when its second run of 1000, on numbered vinyl, packaged in a hand-silkscreen-painted sleeve. That tastiness will see the light of day through Godmode in early November.

If you can't wait for that (or aren't even sure you'll be able to secure a copy), you can get across Shamir's acclaimed blend of house, pop, disco and gospel via the fresh cut below.
