Conor Oberst, Bernard Fanning, Belle & Sebastian and more...

The 20th iteration of the Twilight At Taronga series has announced its return for 2015, taking over Sydney's iconic Taronga Zoo each Friday and Saturday night from January 30 to March 21.

Having undergone a significant revamp for the anniversary edition the zoo has secured an A-list roster of artists to grace its stages such as local heroes Bernard Fanning, Paul Kelly performing his Merri Soul Sessions work, Sarah Blasko, Dan Sultan, Something For Kate, Ross Wilson and Mental As Anything, as well as big-name international acts such as Belle And Sebastian, Conor Oberst, The Felice Brothers and Rufus Wainwright, with more to be announced.

Further complementing the heavy hitters will be the likes of ABBA tribute outfit Bjorn Again, the James Morrison Big Band, and diminutive ARIA Award-winning crooner Anthony Callea paying homage to the songs of George Michael, on Valentine’s Day.

“We’re thrilled to be introducing Twilight at Taronga to a new generation of audiences with this vibrant line-up,” Taronga’s General Manager of Marketing, Fundraising and Commercial Services, Paul Davies, said in a statement.

“It’s the first time in our history that we’re introducing big-name international and contemporary artists to complement our regular favourites and we hope this will pique the interest of younger festival-goers while keeping our regular patrons coming back for more.”

To that end, Taronga for the first time welcomes a “striking new visual identity” spearheaded by renowned Aussie artist Ken Done, as well as integrating free public transport for ticket-holders (bus, rail, light rail and ferry included), which, as previous attendees will know, is a massively alluring feature.

Profits from the Twilight At Taronga series continue to be directed to the Taronga Conservation Society Australia.

Tickets for the 2015 Twilight At Taronga series go on sale from 9am this Friday 31 October via the event’s website.
