Country roots star Kasey Chambers has cancelled her remaining shows for 2014 due to inflamed vocal cords.

Chambers, who is touring in support of her album Bittersweet, was due to play dates from late November to mid-December, including the Queenscliff Music Festival and shows at the Enmore and Forum Theatres. Those dates have been postponed until February and March 2015.

As well as inflammation on her vocal chords, Chambers has been diagnosed with small nodules and has been advised by specialists to take it easy and lessen her immediate workload. By undergoing vocal therapy in the next two months she hopes to avoid surgery and repair the damage naturally.

“I’m so disappointed that I will have to postpone the Bittersweet Tour due to two small nodules on my vocal chords,” Chambers said.

“Doctors have advised that I lighten my workload considerably for a little while to give them a chance to heal, but luckily, if I take their advice, no surgery is needed. Thank you for the support over the last year, with some rest and a ‘no yelling at the kids to clean their room’, I’ll be back on track in no time!”

Tickets can be kept and used for the rescheduled dates or refunded from point of purchase. Queenscliff Festival tickets are not able to be refunded.
