Renowned US-based soul-pop/R&B songstress Macy Gray has announced that she will be returning to Australian shores in March next year for a run of shows around the country, in support of her acclaimed, recently released ninth studio full-length, The Way.

The Grammy-winning performer will kick off her Australian sojourn at Melbourne's venerated Palais Theatre on Saturday, March 7, and take in additional performances in Perth, Darwin, Adelaide, Lismore, Brisbane, Port Macquarie and Newcastle before concluding her journey at Sydney's Enmore Theatre on Thursday, March 19.

Gray's The Way tour will mark her first return to Australia since 2012's Covered visit, during which she sold out a number of performances in the country, satiating existing fans and garnering new ones pretty much everywhere she went.

Aussies have had a soft spot for the raspy-voiced performer since her breakthrough hit I Try first touched our ears back around the turn of the century, and in the time since she's gone on to be nominated for multple Grammy Awards — she took one home for Best Female Pop Vocal Performance — as well as wins at the BRIT and MTV Awards.

When she's not making magical music, Gray spends her time as the mother of three adolescent children and finds the room to appear on TV and in films from time to time, having appearances in Training DaySpider-ManScary Movie 3 and The Paperboy to her name.

Tickets for Macy Gray's 2015 Australian tour will be up for sale from 10am local time next Wednesday, October 29. Pre-sales for Ticketmaster and Visa Preferred customers kicked off this morning, with a My Ticketek pre-sale on the calendar from 9am on Monday, October 27 (for Melbourne, Perth, Adelaide, Brisbane and Sydney shows only). Supports are to be announced.
