Truth, justice and the hard-rockin' way

Soundwave Festival promoter AJ Maddah has promised that there will be at least one supergroup on 2015's event line-up, taking to Twitter yesterday to confirm Aussie punters will be treated to a so-called 'Justice League Of Rock' when the tour rolls through early next year.

"You want supergroups?" Maddah tweeted, apropos of apparently nothing. "We have got supergroups! #SW15 #JusticeLeagueOfRock"

Speculation on the identity of the unnamed act has ranged from The Damned Things (who feature half of Soundwave-bound pop-punk icons Fall Out Boy) to Kill Devil Hill, Winery Dogs and the Red Dragon Cartel, though Maddah has so far remained tight-lipped on the topic. For our money, there could be a strong chance for Dead Men Walking — the recently formed supergroup featuring The Living End's Chris Cheney, Captain Sensible of The Damned, The Stray Cats' Slim Jim Phantom, Mike Peters of The Alarm, with Guns N' Roses' Duff McKagan and Saturday Night Live alum and Late Night With Seth Myers bandleader Fred Armisen.

The new act will join an already massive two-day line-up, which sports the likes of Faith No More, Soundgarden, Slipknot, Lamb Of God, Incubus, Marilyn Manson, the aforementioned Fall Out Boy, and Judas Priest — so we're not exactly short on super groups as it is... but a supergroup will certainly take things to the next level.

A final line-up announcement for Soundwave 2015 is due in the near future. For all the existing info on the festival to date, head over to our dedicated event page to get the lowdown.
