More Eddie Izzard More Eddie Izzard

Eternally outrageous British comedian Eddie Izzard is bringing his acclaimed Force Majeure world tour to Australia in early 2015, hitting six stages around the country in January and February.

Izzard has been undertaking the tour since March last year, meaning he'll have solidly been on the road in support of the show for nearly two years by the time he arrives at the Sydney Opera House Forecourt on Wednesday, January 28. From there, he heads south to Adelaide, back up to Brisbane, across to Perth, back across to Canberra, and wraps up in the southern reaches of the country at Melbourne's Hamer Hall on Monday, February 9.

All said and done, Izzard's Force Majeure tour is on-track to become the most extensive comedy tour in recorded history (there are no statistics for prehistoric stand-up acts, to be fair), taking the legendary funnyman to twenty-five countries across five continents, missing only South America and Antarctica. He's performed everywhere from Russia and the UK to Canada, the States, India and Nepal on his way to tickle Aussie ribs, as well as completing residencies in both France and Germany's capitals (during which he performed entirely in those countries' primary spoken languages, because what's an Izzard show without a little degree of glitzy showing off?).
