The South Australian institution will host its prize-giving celebration in November

Adelaide venue Fowler’s Live has unveiled the list of acts and artists nominated for its annual Music Awards, with celebrated performers Bad//Dreems, Allday and Collarbones all scoring nods ahead of this November’s prize-giving ceremony.

Bad//Dreems picked up dual nominations – one for the brand new, APRA AMCOS-supported, peer-nominated SA Songwriter(s) Of The Year award (which yields a $500 cash prize), the other for best rock act – with Allday getting a nod for best hip-hop act alongside the likes of Jimblah and Funkoars, and Collarbones’ nomination coming from a best electronic act pool that features Luke Million and the ascendant Tkay Maidza.

Veteran acoustic duo The Audreys also scored two nominations – best roots act and SA Songwriter(s) Of The Year – with member Taasha Coates also being recognised among the pool of the state’s finest managers. Facial-hair advocates The Beards are also up for dual awards (SA Songwriter(s) Of The Year/best pop act). The spread of nominations across the remaining categories, including best acoustic, indie, punk and metal acts, feature the likes of Kaurna Cronin, Timberwolf, Sparkspitter, The Dunes, Horror My Friend, Grizzly, Truth Corroded, Arcadia, Life Pilot, Shaolin Afronauts, The Timbers, Echo And The Empress, Ash Gale, God God Dammit Dammit and She’s The Band.

Industry is well represented, too, with nominations being revealed for the best music initiative (including Moving Music, The Porch Sessions, Music Room and more) and music organisation (including Pilot Records, Adelaide Music Collective and 5/4 Entertainment) in the state.

The 2014 Fowler’s Live Music Awards will be held on Thursday, November 13. Public voting is open now – head to the Fowler’s Live Music Awards site to cast your vote and for any additional information you require.
