None of this 50/50 shit

Australian artists have dominated the intake for next week’s triple j’s playlist, with Flight Facilities grabbing Feature Album and six of the eight full additions going to local artists.

Future Classic-signed Flight Facilities will have their album Down To Earth flogged across the station from Monday 20 October, the Sydney-originating duo’s debut set to come out Friday 24 October.

While the regular playlist additions are usually evenly balanced between locals and internationals, programmers Richard Kingsmill and Nick Findlay have opted for six Aussie tracks today. Melbourne’s CMJ-bound Bored Nothing will see We Lied added, while Lurch & Chief – who recently signed a management deal with Mushroom’s Illusive – have seen Keep It Together get the nod.

Having received spot play last week, Magic BonesAnytime Anywhere is upgraded to a full spin, while Perth MC MathasStone Cold Sober is plucked from the triple j Unearthed ranks.

Secretive young Gold Coast singer Montgomery, who signed a management deal with Unified after two demos and signed a label deal with I OH YOU not long after, has the first single, Pinata, from her forthcoming EP added. Adelaide’s Tkay Maizda joins the party with her track Switch Lanes.

The other two playlist spots were granted to Germany’s Milky Chance and Frenchman Watermät.

Building Brisbane artist Sahara Beck is granted spot play with Pretender.
