Still no reason to not love everything this band does
Alaskan chill-rock stalwarts Portugal. The Man have proven once again that they are a band of the people, after video of the Evil Friends scribes working as servers in exchange for food at Quebec's Osheaga Music And Arts Festival back in August arrived online this morning (AEST).
The story goes a little like this — back in March, Portugal tweeted Canadian celebrity chef and restaurateur Chuck Hughes, indicating that they would be happy to work in the festival's catering tent in exchange for a free meal.
@ChefChuckHughes @osheaga we are down to work 4 food. Kyle can work a mean coffee bar ☕️ and jason knows how to handle raw bars/seafood

Being a long-time fan of the band, Hughes and Montreal-based contemporary and fellow PTM enthusiast Danny Smiles took them at their word, meeting the band after their set and doling out cooking/prep/barista duties.

The Portugal boys seem to hold up all right, too, from the looks of it - and after their shift, a hearty feast of oysters and other lip-smacking goods is presented to them as promised.
We're just saying, this might not be a bad idea for you struggling artists out there. See how it can be done below.
Portugal. The Man recently announced that they'll be hitting Australia at the end of this month for a run of free shows as part of Corona Presents' live music program. And hey - maybe they'll sling a few beers for a feed while they're here. It could happen.
