Fantastic news for fans of veteran US soft-rockers and NRL Grand Final artists Train, who have announced this morning that they will be hitting Australian shores in April next year for a pair of special shows as part of their world-tour support for recently released seventh studio full-length Bulletproof Picasso.

The Drops Of Jupiter hit-makers — yes, that Train — will treat Sydney and Melbourne to one show each, hitting the Opera House on Sunday, April 5, before shooting south to play Hamer Hall on Tuesday, April 7.

Although arguably still best known for their scientifically questionable 2001 hit (isn't Jupiter a gas planet?), Train have a slew of high-performing singles to their name, including Meet VirginiaCalling All Angels and 2011's resurgence-invoking earworm Hey, Soul Sister.

Tickets for both of the three-time Grammy winners' shows will go on sale from 10am this coming Monday, October 13. My Live Nation members get the first look-in, though, with a pre-sale kicking off from 10am tomorrow, October 10, and running until 5pm on October 12.
