Newcastle's own punk-rock luminaries The Gooch Palms have capped off a wildly successful tour of the United States with the dual revelation that they have signed with internationally renowned talent agency Panache Booking as well as shoring up final release details for a double A-side via Detroit's Urinal Cake Records.

The duo — Leroy Macqueen and Kat Friend — just wrapped a 17-date American tour (during which Andre 3000 of OutKast was added to the official Gooch Palms fans list, walking away from a Detroit show with an album and a T-shirt), which also saw them (and Macqueen's wang) play to a ravenous audience at Memphis' legendary garage-punk event Gonerfest.

The deal with Panache sees them become stablemates to fellow esteemed artists and acts such as Mac DeMarco, Ty Segall, Thee Oh Sees and compatriots King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard, and will steal The Gooch Palms away from Australia again next year for them to tour and put together their second full-length album.

The tracks for Urinal Cake Records were laid down during their Yankee sojourn, aided by San Franciscan producer Bob Marshall, of Bauer Mansion, and will mark the pair's first international release. The double A-side will be out later this year.

Before their American momentum carries them away for an extended period next year, though, if you're in the area, you can help The Gooch Palms celebrate the Oxford Art Factory's seventh anniversary when they headline the Gallery Bar stage on Friday, October 17.
