"Resting on one's coattails" isn't even close to being in the Aussie upstart's vocabulary

More Hamish Anderson More Hamish Anderson

Talented Melburnian troubadour Hamish Anderson is following up a massive couple of months – during which he will tour the US and support legendary guitarist B.B. King – with a ream of generosity for Australian fans, with the announcement today of a brand new single, Burn, a new EP, Restless, and an Aussie tour in honour of both for good measure.

Kicking off at home at the Ding Dong Lounge on November 13, Anderson will head to Newcastle, Sydney, Brisbane and Perth on his two-week jaunt of the nation, which follow’s Burn’s release tomorrow and the launch of Restless on November 7. You can enjoy a preview listen of the single (and check out its Ian Corson-directed clip) right here to get you in the mood:

Anderson is temporarily expatriated overseas, basing himself in the US to tour and record, though he returned home briefly recently to open for saxophonist Jake Clemons (he of the E Street Band) before whipping back to the States for his own headline shows. Before he once more pops up Down Under for his impending tour, he’ll not only share the stage with an iconic performer, but he’ll do so at plenty of iconic venues, too, such as Chicago’s House Of Blues and New York’s BB King Blues Club. That’s all on top of a forthcoming appearance at NYC’s CMJ Music Marathon, where he’s one of a handful of ascendant Aussies on the bill.

Restless was recorded over three days at Los Angeles’ Henson Studios (Joni Mitchell, Rolling Stones, Carole King), with Rolling Stones/Counting Crows studio veteran Krish Sharma on desk duties. It’s available for pre-order now.
