The live music hub earns international recognition

Melbourne live music venue Howler has been recognised on the world scale, taking home an award at the recent Restaurant & Bar Design Awards in London.

The Brunswick-based venue won in the Best Bar category in the Asia/Pacific region, with the award recognising the work done by designer Chris Stanley of Splinter Society Architecture and Brendan Brogan. Howler was among 12 Australian bars/restaurants up for awards on the night.

The achievement is all the more impressive given Howler only opened in May mid last year. In the time since, the venue has hosted the likes of St Vincent, Chrome Sparks, Hiatus Kaiyote, Howling Bells and Kingswood. Howler is currently playing host to a number of Melbourne Fringe Festival performances, details of which you can find in theGuide.
