Stalwart Brisbane act Hey Geronimo are stepping up the world stage with the announcement of a global partnership with historic independent music company Alberts.

The deal, which was finalised during the recent BIGSOUND conference and showcase event in Brissy, comes amid a hectic period for the band, with much of their 2014 having been taken up with writing and recording for their eagerly awaited, and long-time-coming debut LP.

The first single from that full-length, which will follow previous radio favourites such as Why Don't We Do Something, Carbon Affair and Lazer Gun Show, is expected to drop in the very near future, alongside the announcement of tour dates in October.

"The band's sole focus this year has been just to write great songs, so we're ecstatic to now be in partnership with Alberts — an industry-leading team that we have long admired," frontman Pete Kilroy enthused of the signing.

For its part, Alberts is no less stoked to have signed the vibrant young indie poppers. Said Alberts head of development Michael Szumowski: "We're thrilled to be working with Hey Geronimo. Their approach to sognwriting is both inventive and distinctly original, which makes them a great addition to the growing Alberts roster."
