A fitting farewell for the fun-loving fraternity

More Bluejuice More Bluejuice

Perennial party-starters Bluejuice are well and truly winding down, now — their extensive national farewell, the Retrospectable tour, gets under way in Adelaide tomorrow night, and before you know it the new year will be here and Bluejuice won't.

Before that happens and the Broken Leg/I'll Go Crazy/probably-some-other-songs hit-makers say goodbye for good, they're making one last dash for greatness, and they need your help to get there.

See, in the thirteen years Bluejuice have been entertaining us, they've not once managed to crack the top position on an Australian chart. As such, with time running out and one final chance to do so in the form of final, greatest-hits LP Retrospectable, they're turning to their fans and asking for one last push to get the album to the top of the charts upon its release this Friday, September 26.

The campaign, handily dubbed #BluejuiceToTheTop, is asking for fans to submit a Bluejuice story — be it photo, video, farewell message or hate mail — which will consequently be published on the band's Facebook page for you to tag and share with your friends, thus spreading the #BluejuiceToTheTop message.

Of course, it's not just the goodness of your heart on which the band are relying to encourage participation in the campaign — so, yes, there are prizes involved. To wit, the band will pick a winner for each show of the Retrospectable tour to be "legend of the night", which isn't just a fancy title you also score VIP tickets for yourself and a mate, side-stage standing position for the gig, pre-show backstage hangouts and heckling opportunities, a chance to help yourself to their rider, and maybe some underpants-centric quasi-nudity if everyone is drunk enough for that.

Well, what are you waiting for? Head to the #BluejuiceToTheTop information page and get cracking on those stories for your chance to act like a big-shot and, moreover, to help the beloved band earn one last (or one first; whatever) achievement before they ride off into the sunset.
