Celebrating everything unique about the Sydney suburb, Newtown Festival have dropped their first artist announcement for 2014, with the new-look Deep Sea Arcade, genre-benders Straight Arrows and instrumental-rock heavyweights sleepmakeswaves leading eclectic bill.

Set to go down on Sunday 9 November at Camperdown Memorial Rest Park, the festival attracts around 80,000 punters each year in a celebration of music, arts and all-round creativity, something Newtown has made a name for itself for.

Three stages will host music all day with a line-up just as unique as the location and here are each of the names:
