Plus George Maple, The Preatures and King Gizzard added to the playlist
Melbourne rockers Kingswood have had their debut album Microscopic Wars named as triple j’s Feature Album for next week, after it debuted at six on the ARIA charts last week.
The band were given the nod ahead of New Zealand’s Broods, whose Evergreen album will have a number of tracks added next week.
There are seven other Australian tracks to appear on the youth broadcaster’s airwaves next week, including Future Classic-signed and managed George Maple with Talk Talk who, on returning from London, will have an EP out in October. The Preatures’ new track Somebody’s Talking gets added ahead of their debut album as is King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard’s Cellophane.
Melbourne teenager Japanese Wallpaper also receives full addition for Between Friends, which features Adelaide teenager Jesse Davidson, thanks to winning the recent triple j Unearthed High competition. He’s managed by Zero Through Nine, who also look after Leaks and Surf Dad, and is booked by Select.
