“Perth and Adelaide, listen up.. you are officially on notice.”

Metal promoters Soundworks Touring have threatened to remove future Perth and Adelaide shows from their touring schedule unless they see an increase in ticket sale.

With Soundwave withdrawing from Perth and other tours often missing Adelaide, ticket sales outside of the east coast has been a regular discussion amongst the industry. Now Soundworks Brad Wesson has taken to their Facebook page to warn punters of the potential cull, citing the slow ticket sales of their upcoming Cannibal Corpse tour.

“Perth and Adelaide, listen up, you are officially on notice. If the ticket sales do not hit a respectable point we will be removing BOTH cities from all future touring plans,” Wesson said.

“Adelaide, you asked for shows to come back but you are not returning the love, 155 sales as of today, if it does not hit 400 then there is not point putting future shows of this size in your town… as much as we do love your beer and strip clubs.

“Perth, 473 for Carcass and Cannibal is looking the same. If you don't get up over 500 then it's back to the days of flying east to catch death metal shows for you. Take note guys, the days of us losing money in Perth are over unless you prove a point at Cannibal.”

Soundworks Touring has toured Carcass, Morbid Angel, Be’Lakor and more in the past year.

The Cannibal Corpse tour kicks off in Perth on Tuesday 9 September before taking on Adelaide the next night.

You can find all dates and ticketing info in the Gig Guide or The Music App.

UPDATE - 4.30PM

It seems the prospect of losing future shows was the spark punters needed, with Soundworks Touring reporting this afternoon that ticket sales have gone up since their initial post:

“Hey guys...just want to say a big thanks to everyone for getting involved in the chat from yesterday. To Perth and Adelaide, a big thanks to the spike in sales over night. Thank you very much from Soundworks and Cannibal Corpse!”
